I know we don’t like this word. Let’s look at the definition.
: destruction or surrender of something for the sake of something else.
Certainly Jesus sacrifices for us. But what are we willing to surrender for the sake of something at someone else?
I am reading this book “Building your personal House of Prayer” by Larry Kreisler. I read a couple of paragraphs on the sacrifice of praise. Larry wrote that the “sacrifice of praise” is our response to what God has done.
There are times when we don’t feel like praising Him. This can be for a variety of reasons.
“Praising or worshiping the Lord is not to be dependent upon our emotions, but instead on a decision we make.”
You can read it for yourself in:
Hebrews 13:15
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
So our challenge today is to give God what is His, praise for what He is doing in our life.
