As Christians we can become numb to this scripture. We see it all over. As a sports fan I see it in the stands at Baseball and Football games. I thought we could dive into this verse a little deeper today.
John 3:16 “for God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
I love the NKJV for this scripture. Especially for the last part, everlasting life. Some versions say eternal life, which is good. I feel Heaven is capture more clearly as an Everlasting place.
Everlasting- : continuing for a long time or indefinitely– Merriam Webster dictionary.
We will be in God’s presence for an indefinite amount of time. 10,000 x 10,000 years doesn’t even come close to our time in everlasting.
So as we think of John 3:16 “, we read and pray. Let’s remember the Bible really is:
