Turn the Corner

Have you been stuck in or on the same thing in life. Is there something or someone in your life you just can’t get past. In other words you can’t “turn the corner”?

It can be scary looking at the corner of life and not know whats around it. So rather than letting go and turning we just stand there.

What’s worse is sometimes we do not turn the corner but we turn around. This means we are going backwards. I always tell our dog Max that we do not go backwards for any reason. Even if the reason feels or sounds good. In Max’s case it smells good. No going backwards.

Biblically speaking we go back into Egypt instead of going into the promise land.

Moses was tasked by God to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. They had become slaves to the Egyptians. So Moses came out of the desert to free the Israelites. They were reluctant at first but warmed up to the idea.

At some point the the Israelites said it would have been better if you had left us in Egypt. This was when the Egyptians were closing in on them with there backs to the Red Sea.

Exodus 14:12

Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.”

The things in our life that do not allow us to “turn the corner” are the same things that allow us to enter the promise land. God will use our hurts and pains. You see the things in the valley are what propel us to the mountain top.

There is nothing you or I have done in our lives that God won’t use to help us or others we come in contact with.

But we need to let go and let God. It is scary but you can do it. There good times and hard times around the corner. The next chapter in your life is waiting for you, just turn the corner!
