We must pray!

Our home group has been studying a book called “Draw the Circle” (The 40 Day Prayer Challenge.)

This week in one of the devotionals Mark has this scripture:

As Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened” (Matthew 7:7–8).

In the corresponding video he mentioned that we need to ask God to move in our lives. He went on to say that God can’t move in our lives if we don’t ask Him.

I believe God can do anything He wants to. But there is a principle here I think is worth exploring. There are times in our life that God wants us to know that He is the reason for x, y and z. So He wants us to ask for that thing, whatever it might be.

So I have a story to share on this point. Yesterday I am demonstrating a product at a local store. It is very slow and people are walking around me like I wasn’t there. I began to think about the last Demo I did and what was different. I realized I had not asked Daddy for favor. So I immediately asked for favor.

Believe me when I tell you it all changed after my prayer. All of a sudden people were looking right at me and asking for a sample. It was like God just opened there eyes. I was a little surprised and realized that I had to give Daddy all the praise. I could not take any credit for what just happened.

Sometime we like to take credit for our success. We even justify our position by saying if you work hard good things will happen. In reality without Gods blessing there would be no success no matter how hard we work.

So go ahead and ask God for what you want. When God moves give Him the credit.

Proclaim your Praise!
